Dear colleagues,

As President of ESMU, the European Centre for Strategic Management of Universities, I am delighted to inform you about our

NEW Study Tour on European Higher Education
which we are organizing
in Europe between
15-20 May 2011.

This is an intensive programme for senior leaders of Latin American universities which provides significant opportunities to get acquainted with European higher education, European policies in higher education and research and their implementations in higher education institutions.

This Study Tour is the fourth in a series of six, organized with the support of
the European Commission under the ERASMUS MUNDUS programme, Action 3
.

European higher education has been undergoing major transformation over the last decade, including the Bologna Process and the Lisbon Strategy.
Combined with the European Higher Education and Research Areas, these show a dynamic new European environment, building on the diversity of our many European national systems.

This Study Tour offers participants a unique opportunity to broaden their knowledge of developments in European higher education through discussion with senior university leaders, experts, and officials from national and European higher education organizations. Program sessions in Glasgow (United Kingdom), Brussels (Belgium), and Valencia(Spain) include seminars and case studies that focus on:

  • Key issues in higher education reforms (Bologna Process, joint degree programs, quality standards, equity and access)
  • Research and innovation (knowledge transfer, responsiveness to industry and society)
  • European policies and their implementation at the institutional level

Giving the EU grant and the support of the European Commission we are now able to offer this programme with a discount of almost 50%, for the  price of 1950€ instead of 3950€.All costs, except for the intercontinental flight, are included:

·         participation in all sessions, documentation and resources related to the various topics addressed in the programme

·         6 nights of accommodation in top four stars hotels in the various locations of the study tour

·         all meals – breakfasts, lunches, dinners and coffee breaks during the plenary and parallel sessions of the programme

·         all the intra-European flights

·         all the airport transfers in Europe and the networking / sightseeing fees in the three locations of the study tour.

All details regarding the program, content and costs can be found on the ESMU website.

I look forward to hearing from you and to meeting you at our Study Tour. Should you have more questions about the Study Tour, please address them to Crina Mosneagu atprogrammes@esmu.be.
